Natural gas is on the way out at the country’s largest airport as Auckland Airport begins to switch its air conditioning system to electricity. Mangaluru International Airport dedicated its Integrated Cargo Terminal (ICT) for public use on May 1. Spread over an area of 1,891 sq.m, including 1,200 sq mt area for international cargo and the rest for domestic, the ICT can manage 9,000 tonnes of international and domestic cargo per annum. The airport started operations at the ICT by managing domestic inbound and outbound cargo on the opening day and international cargo will follow suit.
Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport managed and operated by Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), has emerged as the most preferred transit hub for domestic and international passengers. The direct connectivity of Delhi Airport with 142+ domestic and international destinations in six continents has made it the most preferred transit hub for Indians as well as passengers from neighbouring South Asian countries.
The $110 million project will include significant upgrades to the airport's existing terminal building, providing a world-class passenger experience for the region. It's against this backdrop that the new airport has chosen Amadeus as its strategic airport systems technology partner to co-create the digital passenger experience of the future.
A project to improve the experience of travellers flying out of Queenstown Airport is under way. The interior of the terminal will be rearranged to make the Domestic Departure Lounge larger and to upgrade the amenities for passengers waiting to board a plane. This will include incorporating the existing Airspresso café into the departure lounge area and increasing the number of toilets.
Kansai Airports is delighted to announce that seaweeds taken from Kansai International Airport were transplanted to Hannan City as part of the Osaka Bay Sea Forest (Seaweed Bed) Conservation and Restoration Project, which had been registered to the “TEAM EXPO 2025” Program Co-Creation Challenge of Osaka-Kansai Expo.
Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) today released the traffic figures for Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) for March 2023. During the month, HKIA handled 2.8 million passengers, more than 28 times the amount recorded in March 2022, and 372,000 tonnes of cargo, which represented year-on-year growth of 5.8%. Flight movements in March more than doubled year on year to 20,130.
