Tibah Airports Operation Co, the operator of Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah (PMIA), announced that PMIA has received the certificate of Level 2 - Reduction of the Airport Carbon Accreditation Programme from the Airports Council International (ACI), making PMIA the first airport to achieve this level in Saudi Arabia.
ASL Airlines Belgium (IATA code: 3V) will launch a new cargo service between Narita and Liegeon Saturday, 1 October 2022. Established in 1999, ASL Airlines Belgium is a cargo-focused airline based in Belgium which provides air cargo transport services across its extensive network mainly in Europe. This new service is the first route to link Narita and Liege in Belgium.
October will not only be the busiest school holiday period at Auckland Airport since 2019 – it will also see the return of two airline powerhouses, United Airlines and American Airlines.
ZIPAIR (IATA code: ZG) will launch a new service between Narita and San Jose on Monday, 12 December 2022. This is the second LCC service operating the U.S. mainland from Narita Airport and the first direct service from Japan to San Jose in approximately 2 years and 9 months.
The 8th Beijing Global Friend Airports CEO Forum was held in Beijing Daxing International Airport on 20th September 2022. It is the first in-person Forum held since the outbreak of COVID-19. Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru (BLR Airport) continues to be the No.1 airport for handling perishable shipments from India. BLR Airport recorded 52,366 Metric Tonnes (MT) of perishable shipments in FY 2021-22, compared to the previous year’s 48,130 MT. 41% of South India’s air-cargo perishable tonnage is currently handled by BLR Airport making it the leading airport for perishables in India.
