The topic of rising airfare trends was one of the focal points of discussions among airport leaders during the Board Meeting of the Airports Council International Asia-Pacific & Middle East (ACI APAC & MID), hosted by Cambodia Airports, in Phnom Penh.
Airport International Group and Jordan Water Company (Miyahuna) have recently entered into a water connection agreement; a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing the water infrastructure of Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA). Signed by Airport International Group CEO, Nicolas Deviller, and Miyahuna Chairman, Eng. Saad Abu Hammour - in the presence of Miyahuna CEO, Eng. Mohammad Ouran - the agreement paves the way for a new water pipeline spanning over 11 km from Miyahuna’s Al Qastal substation to QAIA, of which 4.6 km are outside airport premises and 6.7 km are within.
Sharjah Airport Authority (SAA) showcased its major developments that are currently underway and planned for its Cargo Centre during the three-day Air Cargo India 2024 in Mumbai, India. The red variety of areca nut weighing 1519kgs in 60 bags was ferried as belly air cargo from Agartala to this coastal city. The innovation supervised by the airside operations team of the airport involved the use of a passenger boarding bridge (aka aerobridge) and two ramps in place of three ramps – two forward and one rear, used by IndiGo previously. Hong Kong’s largest independent cargo handler – is opening 12 new Automated Service Kiosks (ASKs) to speed up collection of import cargo from its giant SuperTerminal 1 facility. Hactl is the first cargo terminal operator in Hong Kong to introduce such a system.
Alstef Group is engaged to be part of the groundbreaking €3 billion upgrade at Brisbane Airport, set to be completed by 2032 in anticipation of Queensland's growing population. The initial phase of this transformative project will focus on the domestic terminal, with new enhancements expected to be fully operational by the end of 2025.
