Christchurch International Airport Limited (CIAL) reports the post-pandemic environment of financial year 2023 (FY23) has signalled the true commencement of its aviation re-start, which has seen the airport perform ahead of forecasts.
The number of passengers at Kansai International Airport exceeded 2 million per month (76% of 2019) for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic (since February 2020). International passenger traffic remained strong, with non-Japanese passenger traffic at 78% of 2019, while Japanese passenger traffic also recovered to 49% of 2019 from 40% in the previous month, bringing overall passenger traffic back to 70% of 2019.
Auckland Airport today announced its financial results for the 12 months to 30 June 2023, including its first dividend and full underlying profit in three years. Auckland Airport Chair Patrick Strange said: “It’s been a year marked by the strong return of international travel, with new airlines and routes, getting underway with the most significant upgrade of Auckland Airport in history, and making progress on sustainability initiatives that will have a meaningful impact across the aviation precinct.”
