The topic of rising airfare trends was one of the focal points of discussions among airport leaders during the Board Meeting of the Airports Council International Asia-Pacific & Middle East (ACI APAC & MID), hosted by Cambodia Airports, in Phnom Penh.
Kansai Airports is delighted to announce that the number of international scheduled flights per week during the peak in March for winter 2024 is expected to be 1,547.5*1, comparable to the winter 2019 level, which was the highest number ever for the winter schedule.
During the month, HKIA handled 4.06 million passengers and 29,595 flight movements, marking year-on-year increases of 22.4% and 22.3%, respectively. Cargo throughput increased to 414,000 tonnes, up 10.2% compared to September 2023.
Kannur International Airport (KIAL) has witnessed a remarkable surge in both passenger and cargo traffic during the first half of the current financial year (FY24-25). The airport handled a total of 6.65 lakh passengers and 5.56 thousand aircraft movements, reflecting a significant increase compared to previous years.

Airport International Group reported that Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) welcomed 721,508 passengers (PAX) in September 2024, indicating a 14.2% decrease compared to the same month in 2023. During this period, QAIA also recorded 5,956 aircraft movements (ACM) and handled 5,713 tons of cargo, down 11.9% and 6.5%, respectively, against last year’s figures.
Over the winter, the airport has been working closely with its airline partners to introduce a summer package that will see a 25% increase in seat capacity on long-haul international routes compared to last summer.
From 1st to 7th October 2024 of seven days of the National Day Golden Week, Macau International Airport (MIA) welcomed about 144 thousand passengers and 1,202 aircraft movements. During the 7-days holiday, the airport handled about 20 thousand passengers and 171 flights movements on average per day, an increase of 27% and 24% compared with the Golden Week Holiday to the same period in 2023.
The international passenger traffic has increased, with the number of non-Japanese passengers reaching 114% compared to the same month in 2019, significantly surpassingm pre-COVID 19 levels.
