250 Pocketalk® W Translation Devices Donated to Enhance Multilingual Services for Inbound Travelers at KIX

Kansai Airports today announced that it received a donation of 250 Pocketalk® W translation devices from Pocketalk Corporation.
The donation is intended to facilitate smooth communication with inbound travelers at Kansai International Airport (KIX) toward the easing of entry restrictions for foreign tourists from June onward. In pursuit of the mission to “eliminate language barriers,” the AI translation device utilizes the latest and most optimal cloud-based engines to provide highly accurate translations, supporting70 languages in both voice and text and 12 other languages in text only.
Pocketalk will allow seamless communication with visitors to Japan and thereby contribute to enhance hospitality at the airport that serves as a gateway for inbound travelers expected to increase toward the 2025 Osaka Expo and beyond.

aim of boosting convenience and improving services for all airport guests.
What is Pocketalk?
Pocketalk is an AI translation device that allows communication between people who do not speak each other's languages. The device is compatible with 70 languages in voice and text and 12 other languages in text only. It produces highly accurate translations, even for long sentences, using the most robust language engines and cutting-edge AI and cloud technologies. Pocketalk handhelds come with a two-year mobile data plan (with no contract and no communication charges required) that provides unlimited data usage in over 130 countries and regions (141 for Pocketalk S and 139 for Pocketalk W), which allows users to enjoy the service immediately after purchase without Wi-Fi connection. As of September 14, 2021, shipments of Pocketalk series (first model, Pocketalk W, Pocketalk S and Pocketalk S Plus) reached a cumulative total of 900,000 units (samples excluded) since the product release in December 2017.
