ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East Invites Consulting Partners to Submit Proposals for a Study on Competitiveness of Airports in the Middle East

  • 2024-01-17

ACI Aisa-Pacific & Middle East have embarked on a number of research initiatives that shed light on the significance of air connectivity in driving economic and social development, identified key factors that influence changes in air connectivity, and proposed recommendations to enhance airport connectivity and advocate for greater liberalisation.

Compared with Asia-Pacific, the Middle East markets have largely recovered from the pandemic and are setting their sights on future growth. Hence, there are compelling needs for conducting an in-depth study that focuses on specific countries, aiming to evaluate and measure the factors that impact their competitiveness. The purpose of this study is to provide a focused and localised analysis of the airport competitiveness of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Jordan.

As such, ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East seeks to commission a competent consultant to develop a new analytical product – “COMPETITIVENESS OF MIDDLE EAST AIRPORTS” (the Study). The Study aims to comprehensively evaluate the factors influencing airport competitiveness in the GCC countries and Jordan, develop tailored solutions to address their unique challenges; and provide country-specific recommendations that policymakers and other stakeholders can utilise to improve and develop airport connectivity and overall competitiveness.

The scope of the Study shall include, but not limited to, the following major components:

  • Regulatory frameworks for promoting connectivity, growth, decarbonisation and innovation
  • Infrastructure development
  • Airlines, routes, and network development
  • Tourism and economic impacts
  • Technology and innovation to enhance connectivity and the passenger experience
  • Challenges and opportunities for improving connectivity

Interested parties who wish to receive a copy of the RFP document for the above shall forward their company name, together with the name, position, telephone number and email address of their contact person by email to:

>> Mr. Ilia Lioutov, Head-Economics & Middle East Office, ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East
>> Mr. Philip Kwok, Senior Manager-Economics, ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East

All proposals shall be submitted by email no later than 17:00 (GMT+8) on 9 February 2024.

All proposals must include proposed fees quoted in US Dollars and be inclusive of all fees, charges and taxes.
