Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) is excited to announce the development of a major warehouse facility at Brisbane Airport that will expand the footprint of national safety goods supply group, RSEA Safety.
BAC is developing RSEA Safety’s new 3,900sqm facility within the Export Park precinct, which has become a critical logistics hub for major brands thanks to its unparalleled proximity to key air and road transport.
Martin Ryan, BAC’s Executive General Manager Commercial, said RSEA Safety had joined a growing list of retailers and manufacturers including Miele, Haymans Electrical, and Pool Tile Company, in recognising the benefits of the master-planned precinct.
"The development of RSEA Safety’s facility at Brisbane Airport highlights the diversity of tenants we support within our precinct as Brisbane’s key industrial hub," he said.
"Importantly, the construction will include a 280kWp solar system that adds to Brisbane Airport’s largest commercial rooftop solar system in the southern hemisphere. This underscores our accelerated commitment to achieve net zero scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions by 2025."
RSEA Safety’s development – expected to open next year – will feature a warehouse of approximately 3,500sqm of Net Lettable Area (NLA), an office of approximately 400sqm of NLA and 36 on-site car parking bays. It is located on a 9,854sqm site.
RSEA Safety Founder and Managing Director Brandon Chizik said the purpose-built facility would be an important addition to the company’s existing network of 78 superstores, 6 distribution centres and 28 embroidery facilities.
"The location at Brisbane Airport provides us with the ability to access road and air transport quickly and efficiently to connect with our customers and stores around Australia,’’ Mr Chizik said.
"The BAC team were able to meet our specific needs to service not only individual customers, but to provide commercial safety solutions for major clients as well."
RSEA Safety, which opened in 2000, is now the largest independent safety business in Australia.
The new RSEA Safety warehouse in Export Park joins recent warehousing and office facilities for companies including Geodis, DHL, Bevie, Bonds Transport, and Direct Couriers.
The highly successful Export Park precinct is one of Brisbane Airport’s most established industrial precincts, with tenants taking advantage of the potential for 24/7 operations and the proximity to key air and road transport.
Responding to the significant demand for new state-of-the art sustainable industrial facilities at Brisbane Airport, work is under way on the next 28-hectare stage of the Airport’s Industrial Park.
BAC is responsible for the sustainable development of Brisbane Airport’s entire 2700-hectare lease holding and manages the $2 billion property portfolio which supports more than 425 businesses.
