BLR Airport Hosts a Grand Rajyotsava Celebration: Showcases Karnataka’s Rich Heritage

Kempegowda International Airport Bangalore, (BLR Airport) celebrated Karnataka Rajyotsava with grandeur, hosting a vibrant event that honored the rich heritage and cultural diversity of Karnataka. The festival took place at BLR Airport’s Terminal 2, welcoming passengers and visitors to experience the true spirit of the state.

 

 

The event was graced by Prof. Purushottama Bilimale, Chairman of the Kannada Development Authority, Government of Karnataka, as the Chief Guest. Prof. Bilimale praised BLR Airport’s initiative to showcase Karnataka’s legacy to a global audience.

 

 

A key highlight of the celebration was a spectacular dance performance that brought together Karnataka’s iconic folk forms. Each performance celebrated a distinct aspect of the state’s heritage, blending colorful costumes, rhythmic music, and dynamic movements to captivate the audience.

 

 

Adding to the cultural richness, a vibrant flea market was set up at the forecourt of Terminal 2 with stalls showcasing Karnataka’s GI-tagged products, with a special focus on women-led ventures. These stalls exhibited exquisite items such as Mysore silk, Udupi sarees, Bidriware, and Ilkal sarees, offering travellers a glimpse into the craftsmanship and tradition that define Karnataka. The event also featured an exciting array of live art demonstrations, including pottery, Channapatna toy painting, basket weaving, and more, offering travellers a captivating glimpse into Karnataka’s traditional craftsmanship.

 

 

Through this celebration, BLR Airport reaffirmed its commitment to promoting Karnataka’s vibrant culture and heritage on a global stage, creating memorable experiences for passengers while supporting local artisans and traditions.
