Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (BLR Airport) hosted a vibrant cake-mixing event across both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, kickstarting the Christmas season at the airport. The much-anticipated annual tradition, which began in Terminal 1, symbolizes the warmth of the season, bringing together passengers, staff, and special guests in a celebration of flavors and festive cheer. This year, Terminal 2 joined the tradition, extending the festive experience to travelers across both terminals.
At Nicobar Lounge, located in Terminal 2’s International Departures and managed by Bengaluru Airport Services Limited (BASL), the space was transformed into a festive hub, brimming with the delightful aromas of holiday ingredients. Guests enjoyed mixing an assortment of colorful ingredients—juicy fruits, crunchy nuts, and fragrant spices—all soaked in rich spirits. The event was further enriched with a gingerbread house-making workshop, bringing together guests of all ages in a joyful, interactive celebration. A special highlight was the felicitation of Mrs. Niesa Kolakhe, recently crowned Mrs. Femme International 2024 by Mrs. India Inc., a moment that captured the season’s spirit.
Meanwhile, the 080 Domestic Lounge in Terminal 1, operated by Travel Food Services (TFS), hosted its own festive celebration. Participants were invited to blend fruits, nuts, and spices, soaking them in rich spirits. The result was a delicious array of treats such as plum cakes, travel cakes, and mince pies, served as part of the lounge’s buffet spread. Travelers also enjoyed classic holiday beverages like eggnog and mulled wine, alongside savory delights such as golden croquettes and buttery quiches, making the lounge the perfect place to unwind and embrace the holiday season.
This experiential cake-mixing ceremony marked the perfect beginning to BLR Airport’s Christmas celebrations, reinforcing its commitment to creating memorable and unique experiences for travelers during the holiday season.
