Bonza Airlines Launches Inaugural Flight From Sunshine Coast to Newcastle: A Historic First Connection to New South Wales

The first ever Bonza flight into NSW will touch down just after 3:00pm and passengers will arrive to a showcase of our region’s locally grown produce in the Airport’s arrivals lounge.

With fares starting at $59 one way, more people in our region can fly directly from their airport to fantastic destinations like Sunshine Coast and Whitsundays.

“Our region now has access to a whole a new era in low cost air travel, this is something not available in Sydney,” said Newcastle Airport CEO Peter Cock.

“And it will only get better as Bonza continues to expand its network and deliver on its commitment to providing affordable, convenient, and comfortable air services to underserved communities.”

The direct connection between Newcastle and the Sunshine Coast not only benefits holiday makers from our region keen to head north, it also offers more choice for travellers from the sunshine state wanting to venture south.

Bonza CEO Tim Jordan echoed Dr Cock’s sentiment about the inaugural flights.

“We’re raising a glass today to Bonza’s first ever flight into NSW with customers going interstate to see loved ones and enjoy a well earned break filled with art, culture, beaches, wine and food. All of this with fares as low as $59 per person one way,” said Jordan, who flew with customers today.

“This is our eighth route to launch and so far the feedback has been really positive. Our customers say they love our brand new aircraft and the service from our cabin crew legends. Perhaps the most popular part of the experience is our all Aussie menu ordered through the Fly Bonza app and delivered directly to the customer's seat."

The new Sunshine Coast to Newcastle route will operate four flights per week, using Bonza's modern and fuel-efficient fleet. Bonza Airlines is proud to support local tourism in both regions, boosting economic growth and job opportunities.
