Business Jet - Commercial Flight Wing-to-Wing Transfer Offers Diversified Services at HKIA

  • 2024-03-20

Chapman Fong, Deputy Director, Airport Operations, AAHK, and Sheree Cheung, Deputy GM of HKBAC introduce the new transfer service

Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) and Hong Kong Business Aviation Center (HKBAC) have jointly launched the “Business Jet & Commercial Flight Wing-to-Wing Transfer Service”, diversifying transfer services at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) and further consolidating its position as an international aviation hub.

With this new service, passengers arriving on commercial flights can directly proceed to transfer to business jets under the escort of staff from HKBAC within the airside area. Their checked baggage will be handled by HKBAC and carried to the final destination by the business jets. The service is also the same for transfer from business jets to commercial flights at Terminal 1 (T1).

Passengers and their checked baggage will undergo the same security checks, customs, and quarantine procedures as other transfer passengers.

The new service is also available for passengers using helicopter service connecting to destinations in the Greater Bay Area.

Before the launch of this service, passengers had to complete arrivals procedures at T1 and then proceed to HKBAC for departures procedures before they could board the business jets.

Passengers will save around one-third of the time required for their transfer and further enhance their experience, meanwhile strengthening HKIA’s role as an international aviation hub and drawing more travellers to fly via HKIA. The service is also expected to contribute to Hong Kong’s overall business development, enhancing the city’s competitive edge as a regional centre for finance, business and trade.
