CAM 17th Epidemic Prevention Response Team (Expanded) Meeting Implementing Work Plan With the Company’s Core Value of “safety, Efficiency, Effectiveness”

In response to the “New Ten Measures” issued by the State Council lately to optimize epidemic preventive measures and the notice issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) on the work plan for the resumption of international flights, a series of control measures will be implemented for international flights resumption starting from 8th January 2023. Following the Central Government, Macau SAR Government has also promulgated a new anti-epidemic policy of “Five Plus Three” for immigration and will introduce updated policies continuously.

 

In terms of airport operations, Civil Aviation Authority of Macau SAR (AACM) also clearly states to cancel the closed-loop management measures for high-risk workers and the isolation area for arriving passengers. At the meantime, Air Macau also announced to resume flights from Macau to Bangkok, Thailand from 16th January 2023 and will gradually resume flights to Seoul, South Korea and Kaohsiung of Taiwan region.

 

Based on the above-mentioned new changes and new measures, Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) held Epidemic Prevention Response Team Meeting at 10:00 pm on 4th January 2023. Meeting was presided by the Chairman of the Executive Committee of CAM Dr. Deng Jun. Executive Directors of CAM Mr. Chu Tan Neng, Mr. Kan Cheok Kuan, Mr. Lei Si Tai and Mr. Leung Henry Yee Hang, with all Department Director, General Managers of subsidiaries or representatives participated in the meeting, to inform the latest prevention situation related to each department, check up the scope of works for each department, and preparations for the market development recovery under the new measures.

 

Chairman Deng presided over the meeting and pointed out in his speech that the company’s prevention and control work has undergone changes in the internal and external environment. CAM Epidemic Prevention Response Team will continue to cooperate with the new policies of the SAR Government, adjust the company’s existing policies, and restore the normalization of human resource management, cancel the previous temporary measures related to human resources.

 

At this stage, all departments are required to do a good job in the prevention and control of employees during the peak period of COVID-19 infection, and assist infected employees to recover as soon as possible and return to work. Prevention and control guidance should be given to employees who turn from positive infection to negative with reasonable arrangement and timely guidance to avoid the occurrence of secondary infection. Whilst works for safeguarding the air transportation during the coming Spring Festival, market expansion of passenger and cargo transportation must also be resumed as soon as possible.

 

In line with the Government’s new requirement to the gaming industry, layout and supporting facilities in the airport will be adjusted to provide new models of services system. Commercial services of airport will be fully restored to provide passengers with a new service experience. It is necessary to further strengthen the management of airport operating facilities and the supervision and management of service providers, upholding the company’s mission as “Safety, Efficiency, Effectiveness”. Construction and take over of Terminal 2 and the heliport should be made with all-out effort to increase new basic transportation facilities and new general aviation services. It is required to ensure seamless connection between south extension part of passenger terminal building and the main part. The new baggage handling system should be in place at safe and reliable status, minimizing error rate to meet the future growing needs of passengers.

 

Upgrade of CNS project will be sped up, along with the more investment and faster construction to improve the overall efficiency and core competitiveness of the airport. Keeping up cooperation and coordination with various government departments to firmly implement the expansion and reclamation project of the Macau International Airport as approved by the Central Government, at the direction of “meticulous design, careful construction, fast and economical”, striving to upgrade future development space of Macau International Airport.

Executive Director Mr. Chu Tan Neng pointed out that the coming travel season of Chinese New Year Holiday will be the first battle of Macau International airport in 2023 and he encourage all colleagues sustaining efforts to perform their duties and work tasks in the new year so as to ensure the safe and smooth operation of the airport.

 

Executive Director Mr. Kan Cheok Kuan mentioned that the focus of prevention and control work in Macau has been shifting to medical care as the top priority. It is sure that MIA needs to constantly cooperate with SAR Government in the preventive works while follow the new policies and measures, and pay close attention to the development of the situation, and being prudent to carry out effective airport prevention work.

 

Executive Director Mr. Lei Si Tai requires all departments to maintain close communication with supervising operators, and the relevant operating units are required to properly conduct personnel deployment and detailed arrangements, to reserve sufficient manpower dealing with the potential new wave of infections. Sparing no effort to ensure the guarantee works of airport operations during Spring Festival travel rush and to speed up capacity recovery as work priorities.

 

Executive Director Mr. Leung Henry Yee Hang shared the prevention and control measures in neighboring regions and the immigration policies of Macau. He remind all departments and operating units to adjust their contingency plans to lower the risk of re-infections among employees, and continue to provide international travelers with a comfortable airport environment increases passengers’ confidence in travel.

 

At the meeting, directors (or representatives) of various departments reported on their respective fields, front-line operation and market, logistics support and maintenance, two-line execution work, and exerted teamwork spirit to move towards for common goal.
