CAM Chairman of EC and Delegation Visited the Guangzhou Nansha Economic and Technological Development Zone

Mr. Chan Weng Hong, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM), Mr. Chu Tan Neng and Mr. Lei Si Tai, Executive Directors of CAM were invited to visit the Guangzhou Nansha Economic and Technological Development Zone on 27^th and 28^th October 2023, to learn about the business environment, logistics industry development and related policies in Nansha District.

Guangzhou Port is the largest domestic container port in China, with an annual throughput of 14.55 million Twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU). It is also the largest grain handling and unloading port in China, with an annual handling and unloading capacity of over 22 million tons.

CAM delegation also visited the Nansha Planning Exhibition Hall, Guangzhou South China Oceangate Container Terminal, Free Trade Zone Area and Industrial Park, to understand the local infrastructure and resources of Nansha as well as inspected the warehouse and distribution area of the well-known cross-border e-commerce Shein and Pinduoduo, and the fourth phase of the whole intelligent port area with unmanned operation to enhance safety and operational efficiency, laying the foundation for the both parties to jointly promote regional economic development cooperation.

CAM delegation and the representatives of the Guangzhou Nansha Economic and Technological Development Zone Bureau of Commerce exchanged views during the visit, establish closer business ties, further explore the feasibility of deepening cooperation by leveraging the advantages of Nansha and Hong Kong and Macau and seize the opportunities brought by the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Other delegates of CAM also included Ms. Winnie Hsu, Director of Planning and Commercial Development Department and Mr. Frank Wu, Director of Logistics and General Aviation Development Department.
