CAM Marketing Department Visited Guiyang Airport for Route Resumptions

In order to accelerate the resumption of air services of Macau, Macau International Airport is actively looking for opportunities and seeking collaboration with the industry partners to further expand the air capacity. A delegation led by Mr. Eric Fong – Director of Marketing Department (MKD) of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM), and representatives from Air Macau Company Limited, had paid a business visit to the Guiyang Municipal Government and the Guizhou Province Airport Group Company Limited (GZA) in Guiyang on 6th and 7th February 2023. In the meetings, several topics had been brought up and both parties had detailed discussion on aspects of the routes development between the two regions and the implementation of resuming the Macau – Guiyang route, as well as negotiations on the incentive scheme for this route.

The delegation was received by Mr. Long Cong – Vice Mayor of the Guiyang Municipal Government, Mr. Xia Fei – Assistant to General Manager of GZA, representatives from United Front Work Department of Guizhou Province and Guiyang Chamber of Commerce in Macau. The meetings achieved positive outcomes in all aspects, while the flight service between Macau and Guiyang is expecting to be relaunched in the first quarter of this year (2023). The 2 days visit helps to speed up the reconnection of air travel between the two regions, and thus to accelerate the tourism between Macau SAR and Guizhou Province and the economic cooperation between the two regions. At the same time, it is hoped that Macau could be set as a transit point and make well use of the advantages of Macau's flight routes with countries in Southeast Asia to develop diversified tourism packages and routes.

Other delegates attended the meetings included: Air Macau Company Limited – Regional General Manager of Southwest China – Ms. Celia Wang Jianqin, Networking Planning Specialist – Mr. Kevin Liu Kaihua; and Manager of MKD of CAM – Mr. Daniel Lam.
