CAM Representatives Participated in the ASTINDO Travel Fair 2023 in Jakarta and Visited Airlines

Representatives from Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) participated in the ASTINDO Travel Fair 2023 with the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and local tourist industries in Jakarta on 31st August 2023. ASTINDO Travel Fair 2023 attracted more than 28,000 consumers and gathered exhibitors from various tourism destinations, airlines and tourism operators to promote business opportunities in the tourism industry.

During this travel fair, representatives of CAM exchanged information with the representatives from the industry, and visited Mr. Saleh Alatas – Director of Commercial Department of Lion Air for business exchanged to discuss the future direction of route development and shared the latest market trends of Macau International Airport (MIA). Meanwhile, Lion Air shared their route resumption plan, domestic flights are prioritize and have returned to approximately 90% of the pre-epidemic levels.

For the International routes, they will initially resume to the countries that they had operated before the pandemic. Lion Air is still exploring the feasibility of launching route from Jakarta to Macau in the first quarter of next year (2024). In addition, Thai Lion Air is planning to resume the flight from Thailand to Macau in mid-October of this year (2023).

MIA has been actively supporting and coordinating with the tourism development direction of the Macau SAR Government, while strengthening communication and cooperation with the tourism industry, hoping to jointly expand new sources of tourists and overseas markets, so as to develop a more diversified range of route services.

Mr. Eric Fong – Director of the Marketing Department (MKD) of CAM and Mr. Edman Lee – Deputy Director of MKD represented to participate in the event.
