YANGON – 06 JUL 2018 – Eleven airlines will move progressively from Terminal 2 (T2) of Yangon International Airport (YIA) to Terminal 1 (T1) with the opening of its inter-terminal connection this week. The connector is the first step to link both international terminals in the future for a seamless experience.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines will be the first of these airlines to move to T1 on 7 July 2018 for their BG060 / 061 flight, with the new check-in area at Row C, Counters 11 - 13.

Other airlines scheduled for the move include Air Asia, China Airlines, Jetstar Asia, Malaysia Airlines, Myanmar National Airlines, Nok Air, Qatar Airways, Thai Airways International, Thai Smile Airlines and Viet Jet Air. The move is targeted to complete by end July.

Information Updates For Passengers

To ensure passengers have the most updated information on flight schedules during this transition period, YIA will be making information available via various channels:

  1. Passengers can check airline updates at YIA Facebook page at facebook.com/yangonairport and message the YIA team on Facebook for assistance. Updates will also be posted on YIA’s official website www.yangonairport.aero.
  2. Passengers can also call the dedicated 24-hour airport hotline at 01-9670777 for queries on their flights.
  3. Passengers can look out for YIA’s Customer Service Officers at the Information Counter at Terminal 1, inside Gate 4; as well as our Airport Assistance Officers who can assist with locating new check-in counters and boarding areas.

During this period, YIA will also be deploying additional driveway ushers and guides at T1 and T2 to ensure all passengers are directed to the right terminals.

Enhancing Experiences For YIA’s Passengers

The inter-terminal connection with added check-in counters and luggage belts will mean more convenience and time savings for all international passengers. At the same time, passengers can enjoy unfettered access to the host of F&B options, retail offerings and facilities such as Mingalar Sky Lounges and Miyabi Spa in T1.

These are part of YIA’s ongoing efforts to continue to enhance its service levels and provide the best experiences for its passengers.
