Forecast of international passenger traffic at Kansai International Airport for summer holidays in 2024

Kansai Airports announces today a forecast of passenger traffic for international flights, Japanese and non-Japanese combined, at Kansai International Airport (KIX) during the coming summer holidays (forecast for 10 days from Friday, August 9 to Sunday, August 18).

 

  • International flight passengers are forecasted to be 665,300 (daily average: 66,500).

     Note: Results during summer holidays in 2019 for 10 days were 748,030 with a daily average of 74,800.

  • The busiest departure day is expected to be Saturday, August 10, 2024, with 39,000 departing passengers, while the busiest arrival day is forecasted to be Friday, August 9, 2024, with 36,900 arriving passengers.

      Note: In summer holidays in 2019, Friday, August 16 was the busiest day for departure with 47,250  passengers, and Friday, August 16 was the busiest day for arrival with 54,370 passengers.

 

  • The daily average number of passengers is likely to be 89% compared to 2019, and the top three destinations are expected to be South Korea, China and Southeast Asia.
