Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) – Hong Kong’s major independent cargo handler – has scooped two awards at this year’s Supply Chain Asia Awards in Singapore.
The “Supply Chain Innovator of the Year (Airport Operations Automation)” award was given in recognition of Hactl’s recent Automated Parts Store project. This is a robotic parts dispensing facility that issues spares around the clock for maintenance of Hactl’s giant automated cargo handling systems, saving engineers’ time and reducing machinery downtime.
Hactl also won the “Air Cargo Terminal Operator of the Year” award, following a detailed submission featuring the company’s recent innovations, new technology deployments, IT initiatives, training developments and accreditations.
The “Supply Chain Innovator of the Year (Airport Operations Automation)” award was presented to Paul Won, Executive Director — Engineering and Facilities Services by Tom Woolhouse, Head of Logistics and Industrial, Asia Pacific, JLL at a gala dinner held at the Hilton Singapore Orchard Hotel. Says Paul: “We are very pleased to have won this award recognising our recent robotics work, which will pave the way for more ambitious future projects.”
Joanna Li, Hactl’s Executive Director — Commercial and Business Development, meanwhile received the “Air Cargo Terminal Operator of the Year” award from Jaya Moorthi, Vice President, Global Supply Chain, Schneider Electric. Says Joanna: “Hactl has continued to invest significantly in all aspects of its business, even throughout the pandemic. This award is a welcome acknowledgment of our many measures to strengthen our business efficiency and service offering.”
Organiser of the awards is Supply Chain Asia — a not-for-profit professional body that aims to bring professionals from within the logistics and supply chain industry together to share knowledge, learn from one another and create opportunities for collaborations.
