HZM Bridge Macau International Airport Check In Centre to Be Officially Opened in Late August
- 2023-07-27
The passenger volume of Macau International Airport (MIA) exceeded 1.95 million in the first half of 2023, and the average daily passenger volume in July reached 16,000. As the local tourism industry gradually recovers, the airport passenger volume is increasing steadily with a recovery of more than 40% of the pre-epidemic period (in 2019). To meet the growing demand for travel, MIA plans to gradually resume the “Express Link” service from late August with the official launch of Macau International Airport Check-In Centre located on the ground floor at the Macau Frontier Port of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB).
Passengers who travel via HZMB can directly take the seamless “Express Link” bus service to the restricted area of MIA after completing the check-in procedures at the Centre. It is saving time on transit transportation and improves travel efficiency and experience. The official operation of this Centre will attract passengers to travel to different regions through MIA via HZMB, improving passenger convenience and better integrate the needs of the development of the Greater Bay Area.
In addition to the new operation of the Macau International Airport Check-In Centre at HZMB, the “Express Link” services of multiple ports from land and sea will gradually resume operations. At the same time, the MIA “Service Center” in Jiangmen and Zhongshan are planned to resume operations in the fourth quarter, which would provide a more convenient, efficient, and comfortable travel experience for passengers in the Greater Bay Area. Macau International Airport will continue to cooperate with the promotion of transportation construction, strengthen its resource allocation within the Bay Area and provide more convenient travel options for citizens and passengers with multiple linked transportation services.
