Join Early-morning Family Runway Walk This Summer at KOBE

Kansai Airports Kobe is pleased to announce that “Early-morning family runway walk” will be held at Kobe Airport (KOBE) on Saturday, July 22. Targets for this event are elementary and junior high school students so that they can be familiarized with airports and airplanes. The event will allow participants to walk on the runway, which is usually off limits to the public, and take a close look at parked aircrafts, and chemical fire engines etc. during early morning hours before the start of airport operation.

What’s more, visitors will get a chance to greet Sorayan―Kansai Airports Group’s official mascot character, along with staff of the airlines operating at KOBE. Don’t miss out on this rare opportunity to create a memorable summer experience in the area that is not normally accessible! Date and Time: Saturday, July 22, 2023, 5:00- 6:30 (registration opens at 4:30)
○Location: Restricted Area of Kobe Airport
○Eligible Elementary and junior high school students with their guardian
○participants: *Junior-high-school age and older participants will be asked to present their ID document such as a student ID and driver’s license
○Capacity: Max. 120 people (up to 5 people per group)
○Fee: Free

Notes: The event starts early in the morning when public transportation is not available. 
Participants are requested to travel to the airport on their own by car or other means of transportation.
- For those driving to the venue, a parking fee of 150 yen per hour will be charged.
- The event is subject to change or cancellation due to weather conditions, facility operations, or other unforeseen circumstances.
