KIX Introduces “KIX Cargo Cloud”, a Truck Management System for Import Cargo Collection, for the First Time in Japan

  • 2024-08-30

Kansai Airports is pleased to announce the deployment of the KIX Cargo Cloud for air cargo handling at Kansai International Airport (KIX).

The KIX Cargo Cloud is a truck management system for import cargo collection that allows its users to book the time to pick up their cargo by sharing the information of their cargo and vehicles with relevant parties in advance. The system minimizes waiting time at the airport, improves the overall operational efficiency in the cargo area, and contributes to tackling the 2024 logistics problem.

Furthermore, the KIX Cargo Cloud realizes transition to paperless Delivery Order, a cargo release order document, and reduces manpower associated with manual handling of the document.

The KIX Cargo Cloud will be available to import cargo handlers, freight forwarders, logistic companies from October 23 for trial operations and from November 20 for full-scale operations.

Kansai Airports aims to bring innovations to the air cargo industry in Japan and improve cargo handling efficiency and qulity while collaborating with stakeholders for the future of air cargo operations.
