KIX to become World’s First Scheduled Flight Destination for Boeing’s Newest B787-10 on Singapore Airlines

  • 09 Feb 2018

Kansai Airports is delighted to announce that Kansai International Airport (KIX) will become the first scheduled-flight destination for Boeing’s newest aircraft B787-10. The aircraft will be deployed on Singapore Airlines’ KIX=Singapore route, starting operation from May 2018.

Singapore Airlines is the launch customer (first airline to acquire a specific type of aircraft) for the B787-10. Singapore Airlines currently operates 14 flights per week between KIX and Singapore. We believe high market and air-travel potential of Osaka and the Kansai region led to this movement.

The B787-10 has 50 extra seats compared to the A330-300, the aircraft currently operating on the route in the 2017 winter schedule. It also features an all-new interior, providing more comforting in-flight experience for passengers.

Kansai Airports will continuously work towards providing higher customer satisfaction and greater travel experience by expanding our flight network across Asia and the world.
