  • 2022-12-13

Kansai Airports Kobe is delighted to announce the donation of a chemical fire engine (former No. 3 retired in FY2021) to the Tanna Airport of the Republic of Vanuatu in the South Pacific Ocean on Tuesday, December 13.

This project, including the donation of a fire engine and on-site training, is implemented by the Japan Diplomatic Association under the scheme “Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects” of the Japanese Government’s Official Development Assistance.

In conjunction with the donation, a departure ceremony of the engine was held with the attendance of Kansai Airports Kobe, the Japan Diplomatic Association, the Port Authority of Kobe City, Senon Limited and other stakeholders of Kobe Airport. In response to a request for technical assistance from the Japan Diplomatic Association and the Japanese Embassy in Vanuatu, Kansai Airports Kobe will dispatch instructors to Tanna Airport with Senon Limited around February 2023.

Kansai Airports Group will continue to work with all stakeholders to promote these initiatives and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.
