Nelson Airport has appointed Brendan Cook as its new chief executive officer.

Brendan is the current Regional General Manager – Townsville, Mount Isa, Longreach, overseeing three airports owned and operated by Queensland Airports Ltd.

Nelson Airport Ltd Board Chair Quinton Hall said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Brendan to the Nelson Airport whānau and know he will make an outstanding contribution.

“Brendan has significant regional airport experience, strong leadership and stakeholder skills.  His experience also gives him a unique understanding of the critical importance of a regional airport to its wider community.”

Brendan said he was excited to take on the role and was attracted both by the challenge of leading New Zealand’s busiest regional airport and by the family-friendly lifestyle offered in the region.

“Nelson Airport is an exceptional facility and I’m excited to lead it into the next chapter, continuing its strong focus on customer and community satisfaction.

“I look forward to collaborating with the team to deliver successful outcomes for the airport and the region through our commitment to sustainability and operational excellence.”

Brendan will start in the role on 29 October 2024.
