Osaka Airport Hotel to Exhibit Split-flap Display; A Nostalgic Information Board Returns to Osaka Itami Airport

Kansai Airports is pleased to announce that split-flap board will be displayed at Osaka Airport Hotel  located in Osaka Itami Airport Terminal. 

A split-flap display is a guide board that displays destination and flight information, commonly known as a "Solari display" or "flip-flap display." With the introduction of the digitized board, this information board is no longer in use at Osaka Itami Airport. As a result of discussions within the group on how to reuse the information board, this exhibition at a hotel in the airport has been realized. The information board on display was in use at Osaka Itami Airport, and it flaps and shows the airline logo in its original form. 

It also has a special design to commemorate the opening of the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (World Exposition, Japan), one of a kind to the exhibit, which combines elements of the past and the future. In addition, as an initiative unique to an airport hotel, the hotel welcomes visitors from Japan and overseas with room keys made from discarded aircraft windows and model airplanes at the front desk.  

Kansai Airports Group will continue to create new airport experiences through initiatives that can be enjoyed by customers.

*In principle, the lobby is only open to hotel guests. 
Non-hotel guests can visit the exhibit between 11:00 to 14:00.  
If you would like to see the information board, please ask the front desk. 
Exhibit period: From Monday, April 7, 2025 
Notes:  - We kindly ask visitors to limit the visit time for 10 minutes between 11:00 and 14:00. - - 
We may not be able to invite non-hotel guests depending on the congestion.
