Perth Airport Delivers on Retail Precinct

  • 2023-12-20

Perth Airport’s vision of a hub around the new Redcliffe Station has become a reality with its Airport
West precinct now arguably one of Perth’s shopping destinations.

Perth Airport’s Chief Property Officer Dan Sweet said that the airport has invested significantly in
commercial and industrial property on the estate, which is a prime example of its commitment to
supporting the WA economy.

“Perth Airport is now a major employment centre and property development, which support jobs
growth and economic activity, has become a very important part of our business.

“Since 2018, DFO Perth, Costco Warehouse, Woolworths, Priceline and Sushi Hub have all opened in
the Airport West Precinct, creating more than 1,200 ongoing and retail jobs.

“We’ve been focused on providing all the conveniences of a local shopping centre for passengers,
airport workers and the local community.

“And we welcome the recent announcement from Dan Murphy’s that they will soon join the Dunreath Village portfolio.

“The 100th McDonalds store in Western Australia will also open on a site along Dunreath Drive this
week. The 9,500 square metre site, located opposite Costco, is also home to a new IMO car wash.

“And we are also close to engaging with two more high profile tenants for the remaining sites and look forward to announcing them in the New Year.

Airport West maximises the benefit of the Federal and State government investments in the
METRONET rail project, which has been a great win for the local and airport communities.

“With the development of Redcliffe Station, we wanted to ensure that there was going to be a
balanced mix of retail, food and beverage, and office spaces within walking distance of the new public transport network.

“The decision of big-ticket retailers to invest in the precinct is a huge vote of confidence in Perth
Airport and the WA economy.

“The precinct provides local jobs and shopping convenience for the people of Redcliffe and makes the region an even more attractive place to live or work.

“We are confident that our investment in the facilities available in this precinct will become a drawcard for businesses looking at basing their offices at Perth Airport, as well as savvy shoppers looking for a bargain, as well as providing everyday convenience for local residents,” he continued.
