Phuket International Airport Officially Opened Renovated Domestic Terminal.

The renovated domestic passenger terminal of Phuket International Airport was officially opened on 25 June 2018. The Terminal now provides the total area of over 30,000 square metres. The arrival zone together with baggage claim area is located on the first floor. The departure zone is on the second floor. It consists of 66 check-in counters and carry-on luggage checkpoints, 7 x-ray machines, 7 new boarding gates, 7 sky bridges, airlines offices and 5 toilet areas (for male, female and disabled passengers). The third floor with 3,500 square metres of space is designated for shopping and waiting area, fully equipped with facilities for passengers.

Currently, the domestic passenger terminal has increased its capacity to a maximum of 7,200 passengers in the peak hour and with 2,660 seats for passengers’ convenience. 

The completion of Phuket International Airport development has increased the current runway capacity to 20 flights per hour. It stretches airport’s capacity to 12.5 million passengers annually, domestic passenger terminal serving 7.5 million passengers and International passenger terminal serving 5 million passengers.
