Queen Alia International Airport Welcomes Over 7.1 Million Passengers until November 2022

  • 2022-12-14

Airport International Group announced that Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) welcomed 7,177,227 passengers (PAX) from the start of 2022 until November, registering a 75.5% increase and 13.2% decline against 2021 and 2019 figures, respectively. Additionally, QAIA received 62,661 aircraft movements (ACM), 50.5% more and 14.9% less than the figures recorded during the same periods in 2021 and 2019, respectively. As for year-to-date cargo figures, QAIA handled 56,355 tons, marking a 6.3% rise and 40.2% drop compared with 2021 and 2019 figures, respectively.

During November, 619,803 PAX traveled through QAIA, up 32.0% and down 1.3% against 2021 and 2019 figures, respectively. Meanwhile, QAIA witnessed 5,272 ACM, indicating a 6.6% growth and a 9.2% drop compared to 2021 and 2019 figures, respectively. QAIA also handled 5,072 tons of cargo, recording a 1.8% increase and 41.5% decrease as opposed to 2021 and 2019 figures, respectively.

“Although passenger figures for November 2022 remained slightly below those reported during the same month in 2019, the gap is being reduced by new passenger profiles, mainly tourists arriving thanks to the efforts of the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB), which recently launched the ‘Kingdom of Time' campaign across Europe, promoting Jordan as a tourist destination. Groupe ADP also supported the marketing efforts of JTB by sharing the campaign across its Parisian airport network, showing an example of our collaborative efforts to bolster tourism and air traffic into the Kingdom,” commented Airport International Group CEO, Nicolas Claude.
