Queensland Airports Limited Still a Great Place to Work

Queensland Airports Limited, which owns and operates the Gold Coast, Townsville, Mount Isa and Longreach airports, has been formally recognised as a Great Place to Work (GPTW) for the second time. Great Place to Work is a global authority on workplace culture, having surveyed more than 100 million employees around the world before using those insights to define what makes a great workplace experience.

The Great Place to Work survey showed:

83 per cent of QAL employees believed the company was a great place to work, compared to 56 per cent of employees at a typical Australia-based company.
97 per cent of employees stated QAL was a physically safe place to work
94 per cent said when you join the company you were made to feel welcome
92 per cent were proud to tell others they worked for QAL
More than 85 per cent of employees said people cared about each other and management was approachable and easy to talk to.

QAL CEO Amelia Evans was delighted to receive news of the company again being recognised as a ‘Great Place to Work – Certified’ organisation.

“It is so pleasing for QAL to be recognised in this way after our team endured the challenges over the COVID-19 impacted period, in which the aviation and tourism industries were hit hard, followed by a quick rebuilding of passenger numbers” she said.

“Preserving the company’s culture throughout this period was a strong focus at QAL, and our leaders have all played a role in maintaining this as a priority’’.

“We are all really proud of this achievement, and the work that we do to focus on our team and our workplace. We will continue to focus on opportunities to improve our workplace to ensure we understand what our people value’.’

Ms Evans encouraged other businesses in Australia to participate in Great Place to Work.
