  • 2024-06-10

Sharjah Airport celebrated bidding farewell to the UAE’s pilgrims traveling to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj pilgrimage for the year 1445 AH, in an atmosphere of welcome and prayers for acceptance and a safe journey in their departure and return.

Harnessing support resources in coordination with all strategic partners

Sharjah Airport continues its efforts to provide all necessary measures and harness support resources in coordination with all strategic partners. This ensures comfortable and integrated travel service for the Hajj pilgrims by facilitating their travel requirements easily, including allocating a resting area for pilgrims arriving at the airport from various nationalities, a number of smart gates for completing procedures, ensuring the efficiency of luggage weighing, providing additional carts for luggage transportation and handling, as well as providing them with relevant guidance, necessary information, gifts, and traditional Arabian hospitality.

Providing medical examinations, health guidance, and appointing a religious guide

In this context, Sharjah Airport Authority (SAA), through the Sharjah Airport Medical Services Clinic, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Prevention, provides medical examinations and health guidance that Hajj pilgrims should know and adhere to for their safety. This includes preparing and distributing a health guide booklet containing a package of tips, guidance, and necessary alerts to be considered throughout their journey to the Holy Kaaba and sacred sites. The SAA also coordinates with the Department of Islamic Affairs in Sharjah to appoint a religious guide to answer awareness-raising inquiries on performing the rituals correctly.

Facilitating pilgrims’ smooth and easy departure and completing travel requirements effortlessly

In turn, Hajj pilgrims express their deep gratitude and appreciation to Sharjah Airport’s staff for their sincere efforts in welcoming this year’s Hajj season. They greatly value the round-the-clock facilitation and exceptional services that ensure the smooth and easy departure of pilgrims, and the seamless completion of travel requirements from the moment they arrive at the airport until boarding their designated flights to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Sharjah Airport’s service to pilgrim groups emphasizes the importance of providing comprehensive and rapid service to passengers, especially during peak seasons, to accommodate the large numbers of passengers and stakeholders, enriching their experience and achieving the highest levels of comfort and excellence.
