Sunshine Coast Airport (SCA) has launched the 2025 Community Support Fund with $15,000 in grant funding now available to eligible community groups and organisations.
Grants of up to $1,000 are on offer to help deliver initiatives that support local community, tourism, cultural, sporting, educational and environmental activities across the Sunshine Coast and Noosa.
Last year saw grant recipients receive funding for key projects including Bloomhill Cancer Care’s transport services and Smart Pups Assistance Dogs’ garden growth initiative.
SCA General Manager Kylie Ezzy said the first round of the Community Support Fund was a huge success and was excited to see the how this year’s funding would support new community initiatives.
“2024 was the first year of our Community Support Fund and we were amazed by the incredible applicants and the work they are doing in the community,” Ms Ezzy said.
‘We are excited to continue the Community Support Fund in 2025 and provide new opportunities for community groups and organisations to pursue projects that are important to them.
“This is an important way for us to give back and recognise the amazing work that happens everyday in our community.
“No project is too big, or too small and we encourage everyone who is eligible to apply.”
Grants of up to $1,000 are available for eligible community groups and organisations with a new Sport and Legacy support pillar being added to this year’s criteria.
Ms Ezzy said the Sport and Legacy pillar would be an important addition ahead of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
“We are excited to add Sport and Legacy as a new pillar to promote sport and physical activity in the lead up to the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games,” she said.
“Last year saw applications across all six support pillars and shows the diversity of projects and initiatives occurring across the Sunshine Coast.
“We are thankful to be able to reinvest back into the community who supports us, and we look forward to seeing this year’s projects become a reality.”
The grant application process for the Community Support Fund will run from 2 April until 2 May 2025. All applications must address at least one Community Support Pillar:
- Environment and Sustainability
- Health and Wellbeing
- Sport and Legacy
- Connections
- Opportunity and Growth
