Wizz Air Starts Flights from KKIA to Budapest and Bucharest

Riyadh Airports Company (RAC), which manages and operates King Khalid International Airport (KKIA), and Wizz Air have announced that Wizz Air’s first flights from Riyadh Airport to the two European Capitals of Budapest and Bucharest started on January 9.


Wizz Air’s first flight from Budapest’s Ferenc Liszt International Airport in Hungary arrived in Riyadh’s KKIA the same day, and a welcome ceremony was held in the International Terminal 2. Initially Wizz Air’s flight destinations from Riyadh are Rome, Vienna, Budapest, and Bucharest, with six more planned for Larnaca, Sofia, Naples, Catania, Venice, and Milan later this year.


Eng. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Maghlouth, CEO of Riyadh Airports Company said: “We signed a strategic partnership with Wizz Air and the Saudi Tourism Authority, in cooperation with the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Matarat Holding, and Air Connectivity Program last August.


“We are happy with this partnership which we believe will boost the competitiveness of airlines working at King Khalid International Airport to provide passengers with more options and a better travel experience. Riyadh Airports is anxious to cooperate with the best airlines to offer more travel options and destinations, together with better services.” Al-Maghlouth concluded.
