Sharjah Airport Authority hosted its annual ceremony at Al Jawaher Reception and Convention to commemorate its achievements in 2022 and to honour the employees that contributed to this success. The event was held under the presence of His Excellency Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, His Excellency Sheikh Faisal Bin Saoud Al Qassimi, Director of Sharjah Airport Authority, and directors of departments. Winners of the second edition of Sharjah Airport for Organizational Excellence Award ‘Matari’ were also honoured during the ceremony.
Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) in a single-minded focus of achieving its goal of environmental sustainability, has added two more electric vehicles (EVs) to its vehicle pool for the current fiscal. The airport in August 2022 had initiated its journey towards sustainability by procuring two EVs for its routine operations and has added four more EVs since.
Auckland Airport is underway with its biggest redevelopment since the airport opened in 1966 with a brand-new domestic terminal to be fully integrated into the international terminal. “This is a major investment for Auckland Airport, one which we have been working towards for many years,” said Patrick Strange, Auckland Airport’s Chair.
The Maldives Airports Company (MACL), the operator of Velana International Airport (VIA), participated in the Fifth Meeting of the Asia/Pacific Aerodrome Assistance Working Group of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The working group meeting was held from March 13–16, 2023, at the Kurumba resort, hosted by the Maldives Civil Aviation Authority (MCAA).
Jack So, Chairman of Airport Authority Hong Kong visited Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (HAECO) and met HAECO’s senior management today to receive an update on business recovery and a briefing on HAECO’s plan to expand their operation to Zhuhai as part of AAHK’s plan to set up a high-end aviation industrial park in Zhuhai. The two sides also explored the potential for further enhancing collaboration to capture opportunities in the Greater Bay Area.
The sky is the limit, they say, and for the aviation sector in India, this is true. The airline industry never expected to witness such robust growth after the pandemic. But with more routes and airports opening, it could only get better. This increases the country’s investment opportunities while simultaneously increasing job prospects. This is nation-building at its best, something that the Adani Group believes in and has been steadfastly working towards.
