The Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has renewed the aerodrome license of Mangaluru International Airport. The renewed license effective from September 16, 2023, will be valid for a period of 5-years, that is up to September 15, 2028. The validity of the current aerodrome license issued on March 16, 2022, ended on September 15, 2023. The airport received the renewed license on September 12.

Mangaluru International Airport took a further step in enhancing security by procuring and handing over a bomb suit to the airport security group (ASG) of CISF. This is in line with a commitment given by the airport operator to this central armed police force, tasked with providing security to this vital national installation, to provide them with state-of-the-art security equipment. This also meets a requirement flagged by the civil aviation security regulator.
