According to national and international standards and regulations, governing the desirable, safe and secure service of Air Navigation and Air traffic Management of all domestic and international flights, leadership, management, maintenance and development of airports, are duties of Iran Airports and Air Navigation company which is an important part of this industry's infrastructure in the Islamic Republic of Iran and one of the leading companies affiliated to the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
This company which has been founded in 1991, is managing and operating more than 54 airports across the country, including 20 domestic airports, 25 air border airport and 9 international airports covering about 16 million m2 of terminal space, runways and flight surfaces, various airport buildings and about 9 million m2 of passages, green space, parking spaces and other services to passengers.
