This week, the global community of airport innovators, start-ups, visionary thinkers, researchers and top tech minds gathers at Rome Fiumicino Airport for AIRPORTS INNOVATE 2024. The conference, organised jointly by ACI EUROPE, ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East and ACI World, and hosted by Aeroporti di Roma, will chart the future of air travel, pooling innovative solutions, groundbreaking tools and know-how from across the globe.
Dr. Deng Jun, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) and the delegation have paid business visit to Beijing from 10th February. During this period, the delegation has conducted business exchanges and industry development discussions with Ms. Wang Ruiping, Chairman of China Civil Airport Association (CCAA), and Mr. Wang Changyi, Chairman of the Capital Airports Holding Limited (CAH).
In great news for Queensland’s tourism industry, Korean Air will fly to Brisbane five times a week, with Korean tourists set to inject more than $120 million dollars into the local economy each year.

Narita International Airport Corporation has been honored with the Award for Contribution to Taiwan Tourism again in 2022 after receiving the award in 2021. The award is presented by the Tourism Bureau, a government agency under the Ministry of Transportation and Communications of Taiwan, to companies, organizations and individuals in Taiwan and abroad that have made a significant contribution to promoting tourism in Taiwan.
Sharjah Airport Authority witnessed significant growth and achievements in the year 2022, highlighting its commitment to providing elevated levels of customer services and meeting passenger expectations. The achievements recorded by the Authority has positioned Sharjah Airport as one of the few airports to boost its operational rates and increase the number of passengers and air freight to the pre-pandemic levels. This has further contributed to solidifying the position of the Emirate of Sharjah on the global travel map, as well as strengthening the position of the UAE in the global aviation sector. The track record of the Authority for 2022 demonstrates its steadfast commitment to achieving its development and sustainable goals and strengthening its presence at the local and regional levels.
Coordinator of the Office for Planning of the Supervision of Public Assets of the Macao Special Administrative Region (GASAP) Ms. Sonia Chan and her delegation visited Macau International Airport on 7th February 2023 to inspect the recent completed infrastructure projects and the operational condition, and learned about the management and rational use of related public assets. Chairman of the Executive Committee of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) Dr. Deng Jun and three Executive Directors include: Mr. Kan Cheok Kuan, Mr. Lei Si Tai and Mr. Leung Henry Yee Hang and directors of relevant departments accompanied with and gave detailed explanations in the inspection.
Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) has welcomed from Zurich on Thursday 2 February, 2023, the first flight of Edelweiss Air; the leading leisure airline of Switzerland and a member of Lufthansa Group. Edelweiss Air will operate two weekly flights on Sundays and Thursdays to Amman then Aqaba, with return flights to Zurich scheduled the next day on Mondays and Fridays.
